Guld live @ Säde, 22nd November

November 27th, 2008 by PlasmaDancer

Guld has completed the first part of his European tour, playing at Helsinki’s Säde. A decent crop of videos have already turned up online, and as you can see from the clip here, Guld seems to have done the business in no short order, playing new tracks from himself, Hase, Betwixt & Between, and others. He’ll be heading to Italy next, playing at the Massive event on Saturday.

Full Circle DJs - Live @ Xtreme Hard, November

November 27th, 2008 by PlasmaDancer

I haven’t been too well this week, but it’s about time I posted up a couple of recent bits and pieces. There was an Xtreme Hard event last Saturday, featuring Full Circle DJs - I couldn’t get to this one, but thankfully the set was uploaded a few days ago. Pretty similar to their recent Live PAs, this one also features the excellent remix of Shanty and Epyx & Cyrez’s Frozen Abyss.

  1. DJ Rx - Hellfire (Full Circle DJs remix)
  2. Full Circle DJs - Halcyon
  3. Shanty vs Epyx & Cyrez - Frozen Abyss (Full Circle DJs remix)
  4. Full Circle DJs - Gate Crasher

Betwixt & Between/Cogi @ NRGetic Romancer

November 21st, 2008 by PlasmaDancer

Here’s a video I came across the other day, taken during the last NRGetic Romancer (which I still can’t believe that I had to miss, the first one for a year and a half). Betwixt is playing Reincarnation, and it gives a great idea of the atmosphere during his sets. People aren’t leaping around too much, but that tends to be the case when Reincarnation is played these days, everyone knows that it’s hard work to dance through the whole track…

And here’s some rare video of Cogi, taken at the same event - but what’s he playing? I don’t recognise the tune. Anyway, check out other videos by this YouTube user (IBM8001) to find some footage of Guld and Yousuke, among others.

Decion - Terminal Disease

November 19th, 2008 by PlasmaDancer

Decion’s new mix is definitely worthy of a topic of its own - this is absolutely awesome stuff, with some excellent selections and very good mixing. The set is brutal Hard NRG, and is exactly the kind of thing that’s popular here at NRGetic Romancer or Hell’s Gate. I always think it’s hard to get a decent flow to a Hard NRG mix while keeping the interest up, but Decion’s done a great job here. Very much recommended!

1.Jon Bishop - Stalker
2.Twisted Psycho - Venom
3.DJ Rx - Hellfire (NARC Remix)
4.Random But Raw - Salty
5.NARC - 55 Calibre
6.Firefox - Oz
7.Twisted Psycho - Transformation
8.Random But Raw & Tekneak - Heavy Metal
9.James Nardi & Julian Dwyer - Evil Genius
10.Dramatik - City of Filth
11.Grady G - Afraid of the Dark
12.Key & JCK Vs. Darrell White - Get Down
13.Grady G - Maggots
14.Dramatik - Weapon of Choice
15.Twisted Psycho - Welcome to Oblivion

Guld’s homepage updated

November 19th, 2008 by PlasmaDancer

Guld’s site has just undergone a redesign, and it’s looking pretty sleek. Apart from a couple of links to MySpace and Trackitdown though, there’s nothing else up there yet. Keep an eye on it, there’s bound to be some more stuff appearing before long.

Drum and Bass interlude

November 17th, 2008 by PlasmaDancer

Not much has happened for the past few days, so here are a couple of classy drum and bass tunes I’ve been listening to recently. Released on vinyl with So Long, Sonic Winds is pure quality from Seba. Not everyone’s cup of tea, I imagine, but I’ve got to listen to something else in between practicing for the 29th! Absolutely beautiful stuff.

Click for another 100% classic, PFM’s Danny’s Song.

NRGetic Romancer Records - New tracks from Booty

November 12th, 2008 by PlasmaDancer

Three new tracks have just appeared on the NRGetc Romancer Records Trackitdown page, all by a new artist, Booty. All three tracks are very Hase/Guld in style, and show some real promise. My particular favourite is Oyagokoro BPM, with its melancholy melodies and maybe a hint of Nomic-influence.

As a preview to his set at next month’s NRGetic Romancer, Android Lime has come up with a very nice promo video, using some footage of Betwixt & Between/Guld, as well as the DJ X remix of his new track, Robot Noize.

Hell’s Gate 1st Anniversary, 29th November

November 8th, 2008 by PlasmaDancer

The Hell’s 1st Anniversary flyer has finally been announced, and it’s another impressive one. I’ve only just realised that there will be a Scouse! Tokyo event taking place on Cube’s 4th floor as part of Hell’s Gate itself - and so the flyer had to accommodate both of the lineups, but still manages to look great (despite the slight typo down the bottom there).

I’ll have to check, but I think people on the guest list will be getting in for 2500yen - anyone who happens to be in Tokyo at the end of the month, definitely feel free to get in touch. The timetable hasn’t been completely finalised yet, but it’s looking like all of the DJs will play for around 40mins this time, to make room for Hellraiser’s headlining set. I’m still very much picking the tunes at the moment, but there’s time…

Anyway, click for the event information, and for the other side of the flyer> Read the rest of this entry »

Guld@Massive, 29th November

November 4th, 2008 by PlasmaDancer

More Guld news - BRK has just revealed the flyer for this month’s Massive event, and it’s looking great. There’s sure to be more info coming soon, but initially seems like it’s a different venue to the last Massive party, with regulars BRK, Plus, AKT and Child of Sorrows joining the god of NRG himself.
