Thank You For The Horse

Back again / Chill Out Corner 3

March 3rd, 2010 by PlasmaDancer

TYFTH has been in stasis for a couple of weeks, but we’re back in business now. I’ll try to catch up on a few of the things I’ve missed lately with posts today and tomorrow, because on Friday I’m running away to Hong Kong for a few days.

Just to get things going (and to get me used to writing again), here’s a quick Chill Out Corner.

First track is an anthem, make no mistake - LTJ Bukem’s Horizons. Just listening to it again now, and can’t believe how fresh it still sounds after 15 years.

Next up we have some 1995-style heavy amens and dreamy pads from J Majik, with Your Sound.

Voyager is a lovely track by Voyager (of Hypersleep fame), featuring my favourite drums of the era (1995 again, I think).

More of my favourite breakbeats in PFM’s Love for Life remix, a love song you can raver step to.

Finally here’s a fantastic tune from the very underrated T Power. Amber has everything - demented beats and sci fi atmosphere to start, deep breakdown and then a build up into one of my all-time favourite amen drops. Brilliant vocal sample, too.

    I thought you were dead! D;

    Again, awesome DnB post. Lots of new tracks to enjoy; I’ll make sure to listen to them by order now, though. :p

    At any rate, enjoy your trip.

    Amber is simply perfect… Superb. Outstanding.

    The whole track is nothing short of brilliant, but it truly stands out from 2:00 onwards. The vocal sample is another great chill-inducing touch.

    I do not know if this track is supposed to be sad or just thought-inspiring, if it asks me to dream the future of if it invites me to remember the past. I reckon I react differently to it according to my mood. With that in mind, this is now my favourite DnB track.

    I couldn’t agree with you more re. Amber, such an amazing track. The rest of T Power’s tunes from around that time are definitely worth a listen, but nothing tops this one.
