Carbon Based - Lost in Space
An excellent recent upload from mixu was Carbon Based’s Lost in Space, a tune that has never seen the light of day on FINRG and I’m not sure I’ve ever heard before either. It’s a brilliant tune, with a wonderful main melody and some classic CB filters, though there might not be quite enough going on to fill the full 10-minutes. Anyway, an unheard Carbon Based tune’s always a treat, so thanks as always go to mixu for digging this one up from somewhere.

Definitely sounds like old Carbon Based, the kind of stuff they did in ~2005, or somewhere around there.
I’ve noticed that many FINRG tracks are “almost ready” for quite some time before the official release, for various reasons. In this stage, full wav/mp3 files are nevertheless around, because they play them at gigs and whatnot. I guess this is one such track that they just never got around to finalising and/or releasing. They seem to have been churning out a lot of tunes at the time, so no wonder not all of them made it into official releases.

Yup, sounds like that, doesn’t it?
Back around the time of the switch to SoundCloud there was a search through the FINRG server and all sorts of stuff turned up, and Shanty at EE had a few more unreleased tunes, too.
No sign of Lost in Space though, so it does make you wonder how many others are floating around somewhere…
